Five minutes had passed since Mimi had walked into the Church. The students outside, including Taki, had now been waiting anxiously for the status to be shown.
“Why is it taking so long?”, the blonde boy wearing glasses complained.
“It’ll be shown anytime now, don’t worry.” The teacher consoled the boy.
After a few more minutes passed, the situation finally changed.

“Ah, I am. It seems she will be staying in this village, though…” Taki responded despondently.
It seemed that if he got the status he wanted, then Mimi and he would be separated, as he sought to be an adventurer. It wasn’t something he was looking forward to, as they were very close.
He once had thought about marrying her, but it seemed like it would not be possible. She had no husband slots at all. A relationship with those who had no slots for spouses was doomed for failure. Many years ago, a man and a woman had tried to hold a relationship, even though the man had no wife slots. They grew to hate each other for reasons unknown.
In addition to this, for a person to have no slots for spouses meant they would be unable to have children in their entire life.
As he thought that, Mimi walked out of the building tears glistening near her eyes. She avoided looking at Taki and instead headed towards the back of the group.
“Ahh… Well, Haruki-kun, you go next”, Yamata-sensei pretended like nothing had happened and called upon the blonde boy who wore glasses.
This time, the information showed up quickly.

“Next”, he said calmly, in contradiction to the expression he was giving off.
Yamata-sensei then sent every student off one by one, until there was only Taki left.
“Do you understand why I put you last?”, he asked Taki.
“Hmm… As an adventurer, patience is a necessity. Making rash decisions can end up in death, so it’s best to be calm if the situation allows it”, Taki answered with his honest thoughts.
“Good boy. Well, go on then. Once you’re done with this, your class is going to the tavern.”
Taki walked into the church.
“Greetings, Human”, a sweet sounding voice echoed around the Church.
“Huh?”, Taki started.
“Do not be afraid. I am the caretaker of this place where magic is heavily condensed. I am the one who will guide you.”
“You… Are you a god?”, Taki asked.
“Perhaps, perhaps not. This is a question you must answer yourself in time.”
“I see.”
“Before you, you see three items. A watch, a scroll and a potion. First, put on the watch.”
Doing as he was told, Taki placed the watch around his wrist.
“The scroll contains basic information about this world. Please scan the scroll into your watch.”
“How?”
“On the screen, there are commands. Currently, the only commands should be ‘scan’ and ‘Query’. Please hold the watch above the scroll and tap on scan.”
Taki followed the voices instructions and the scroll immediately disappeared.
On the screen, a new option ‘Jaronia’ appeared.
“In addition to the knowledge granted by the scroll, you can also store new knowledge you learn.”

Taki drank the potion and on the watch a new option ‘Stats’ appeared. He pressed on it and his stats were revealed.
